One of the reasons most MWC teams don't fair well in the NCAA tournament is because the MWC isn't rated very high compared to some of the other conferences. Therefor, they go in as a 16th or such seed and have to play higher ranked teams. Another reason is maybe BYU doesn't believe the ball games are life or death and there is a life after college; maybe it's just a game. Just a couple of thoughts.
HEY UNLV.....what's happened to your great basketball team destined for even greaterness (?). Lost two in a row, and by 18 at home. Would a great team, even in a loss on their own floor, loose by 18? Come on, lets hear the excuses.

Great defense, but even better passing! Lots of layups and smart passes! Loved it! Got me excited for the season!

MWC teams do not go into the tournament as 16 seeds. I don't know which tournament you are watching. The 15-16 seeds are for one bid conferences. Most MWC teams are seeded between 5 and 12. Generally speaking, if you a MWC team and get seeded 12 you were a bubble team that just got in.

re: Sunny South

I won't repeat what the last guy said--but amen.

Example: BYU was an #8 seed in both the 2007 and 2008 tourneys, getting beat by the #9 (lower) seed both times.

What do you mean that BYU doesn't think of the games as being life-or-death or that there's more to life after college...what? that no one from any other school would take such an approach? And BYU is above such pride? Didn't BYU's best player leave last year as a junior to play ball in Europe(couldn't crack the NBA)?

I will agree that while Shawn Bradley's career has been less than ambitious, Danny Ainge will go down as the one of the most absurdly competitive dudes ever to play the game.

And which college team did he play for?
--The one with the eternal perpective.

BYU won on their quickness up and down the floor but they are going to struggle with their offense in the middle. There is nothing there.

I went to the game. It was a lot of fun. It was good to see the players and Coach Rose get a little bit heated. I think that it is good for them. The coach for ISU is notriously psycho - and he didn't disappoint tonight. What a freak-show! He was livid 5 minutes into the game and didn't chill out all game long. He was calling out BYU players and coaches throughout the game. It was unreal! I would like to know more of what was said and exchanged. He made a complete fool out himself and the program. Even ISU fans were yelling for him to shut up and sit down. One pathetic fan yelled as BYU was leaving the floor "get the 'heck' out of here and don't come back." ISU was lucky to get a quality opponent like BYU to come play. It is too bad that their coach is such a classless bum. It added to the entertainment value of the game, however.

48-24!!! Have fun in Vegas...Losers!!!

Have fun in the NIT...if you even make it. Hopefully you don't have to play Southwestern Baptist. In football we will take our third straight 10 win season and third straight top 25 finish. Congrats, Whitt now has as many championships as Crowton. Utah football, where one good year every four years is sufficient. Set your alarm for 2012.

Noone smart enough to start a website for yoots??? You are welcome here anytime. You can tell us how good Brian Johnson will be in the NFL. Wait, is there an eligibility limit in the NFL? It's been nice to get advice from yoots who have two straight years of experience with coping with losing.

HAHAHAHA....zoobie fans with basketball smack!

Oh, wait a minute, I think Hall just threw another pick! Don't worry, we'll send you a postcard from our BCS game and don't spend the money we send you all in one place.
Scoreboard... | 12:30 a.m. Nov. 30, 2008
Are you serious? OK, here it is:

BYU 67 Utah 59 - 2/20/08
BYU 55 Utah 52 - 1/9/08
BYU 85 Utah 62 - 3/3/07
BYU 76 Utah 66 - 1/31/07

Four in a row and counting. I have already purchased my seats for the game at the Huntsman Center this year. It's fun watching BYU beat Utah in Provo, but even more fun beating them in Salt Lake.

I wonder when the Red Clad Runnin' Ute fans will begin bailing on their team this year. Probably with about 12 minutes to go in the BYU game. I can't wait.
KARLL | 1:41 a.m. Nov. 30, 2008
Ha all i have to say is Southwestern Baptist. Thats all i have to say for at least 5 years when a Ute fan talks basketball. Pretty Pathetic Boylin

and p.s. Luke Nevill belongs with the Weasely Twins in Harry Potter. He looks just like them!!!

Why are we talking Utes? I went to the ISU game and like the poster below said, the ISU coach was pyscho!!! At the end he shook the hands of Rose and Warnburg (first 2 in line), yelled at Warnburg, and turned and walked off, missing all the byu players on purpose. Yet on the local radio show afterwards he was calm, collected, and complimented BYU. During the game he was pulling a Bobby Knight, throwing his suit coat, going ballastic at the refs, etc. Really a classless act.
Reality | 8:41 a.m. Nov. 30, 2008
BYU just can't compete on a national level. Consider the following:

BYU won its last tournament game in 1992. Since then, the Utes have won sixteen (16) Tournament games.

Ouch!

BYU's best player did not go to the NBA last year. He is playing and scored 17 points last night. Facts?
RE:MiP | 9:08 p.m. Nov. 30, 2008
"BYU's best player" is playing in Europe because of injuries. The Pistons actually paid a team money over there to have him come over and play to get him ready. If he was really that bad, they would have either dropped him or sent him down to D-League.

Re: Karl
Southwest Baptist is the ONLY thing you can say. You were no match in football and have yet to play anybody in basketball. Have fun now, after Sat, it will all come crashing down. Oh.. but you will still have your home streak, too scared to play a "one and one" scenario with the AGGies.
Please post your name | 5:31 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008
Sunny South dude, so I can send you a Hallmark. You are one of the several reasons the Cougars are deemed as "holier than now" and hypocritical. GO AGGIES!
Re: KARLL | 9:37 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008
You are another reason that B.Y.U. is hated. I am sure the players work hard and deserve some love, but you Cougar fans...Get a Grip!
isu | 11:00 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008
beating isu was ok but i think byu will still lose at weber on wednesday.

byu won in overtime last time and byu won the mtn west...lol
byu in the tourney LOL | 1:05 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
weber utah and usu have all won more recently in the ncaa tourney than byu

byu's last win was early 90s when most of the current students were being born.

overall weber/byu/usu all pretty similar in the tourney.

ony utah is above and beyond anything the other 3 can dream of.
byu is 6-0 | 1:12 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
dont get to confident, you barely beat cal poly and usu beat em by 40.

you haven't played anyone but one decent team - long beach.
byu at weber: wednesday | 1:13 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
weber is expecting about 24,000 on hand for the basketball game.

18,000 tkts have been sold so far.
24000? | 1:51 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
Are you kidding? 24,000? at Weber? Have you not been there? The Dee Events Center only holds 12,000... only BYU has a stadium with that capacity...
Question | 5:22 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
How has Utah done against Kentucky?
24,000 | 8:57 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008
the game is outdoors...

its the 2nd ever outdoor basketball game in the history of our state.

the first one was byu at weber in 1973, the first ever game between the 2.

The game will actually be at stewart stadium. Last time they did this back in '71, there was 23,543 in attendance. Weber won 63-62.
Re: Questino | 3:22 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
"How has Utah done against Kentucky?"

Who cares?

How has BYU done against North Carolina? Oh ya 0-4.

Only Weber and Utah have beaten that power house in basketball.
BYU is good for real fans | 3:42 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008
Must be a BYU article by the comments. Such jealousy. Such envy. Such hate. Such Utes.

Just because BYU owns Utah the last four times in a row, doesn't mean you have to change the subject to football. Good luck in your bowl, btw. I'm rooting for you, but you'll need it!

Just because BYU goes to the NCAA tournament and Utah didn't even make the NIT last year, doesn't mean you should rely on the success of a tournament team over BYU again this year (Is it really smack talk to act like losing at the tourney is worse than not even going).

And just because there are no good articles on a basketball team that lost to Southwestern Baptist, doesn't mean you have to kid yourselves into thinking that BYU's wins against mediocre teams this year mean nothing more than say a loss to a bad team.

Maybe I do see why Utes make comments about how bad BYU basketball is. Utah isn't good in the present, and you accept that. You have nothing great to say about Utah basketball, yet. So keep quiet, then! Does attacking BYU basketball really make Ute flaws disappear that easily?
SOS | 4:16 p.m. Dec. 3, 2008
from Sagarin:

Utah #17 (SOS 86)
BYU #58 (SOS 341)

SOS 341? Who did BYU play? Orem Junior High?

LOL!!!!!!!!!
