My father, Stillman J. Harding was one of those honored at the U of U on Tuesday November 11, 2008. It was an incredible sight to see all those veterans from World War II. They all had stories and experiences to share and it was fun to hear them. What a great part of history!!! We should never forget what all veterans (and those now serving) have done to preserve our freedoms. Their stories should be printed in the deseret news. In my immediate family my husband served twice in Vietnam, two sons in Afghanistan, a daughter trained medical at Fort Carson and another son is slotted to go to Afghanistan in 2010. Freedom is never free and we can thank all military for the freedoms we have. They paid the price for us.

Every time I see a veteran, I tell them how much I appreciate them. My eyes fill with tears and my heart is full of gratitude. I want to thanks these men and women for all that they have done to protect our freedom. Freedom is not free. Thank you to our veterans and also to those servicing now!!

To all that have served please notice the salute the vet Ridley Eagle Chief is doing. Always remember the plam facing your body. I keep seeing service men and women shown today in the papers and on TV they seem to forget the proper salute. Great job Chief you should be proud I am.

this is so vital | 2:04 p.m. Nov. 12, 2008
all vets should be given the best of services available at all times! We need to keep these great warriors around as long as possible as so much can be learned by each generation..i grew up on a rez surrounded by silver star recieprients from the era of wwll to vietnam with a few purple hearts also. It has caused me to stand and not be intimidated as they were always encouraging me to help others less fortunate and stand up for the rights they fought for! It has made all the difference in the world as they would be proud of what has become of my family and I. No amount of money can buy it! THANK YOU ALL VETS!!
