Democracy works fine even when it is close. We didn't have any riots or political assassination four years ago either. We do have a system that protects minorities, that is the reason for the electoral college. The founding fathers came up with a near perfect system. The key is still righteous people. That is why one of the most important debates of this campaign was hosted by a minister and one nation under God is still more important than a democratic or republican leaning government.

What the Lt. Governor didn't tell you were some of the problems that happened in Utah County. Here in District 66 there was a whole precinct that were given the wrong ballots during early voting. Those votes were never counted. Most the people don't even know that. There were also numerous machines that didn't print the backup paper on election day because the papers were jammed. Unlike the old printer system where each individual deposited their own receipt, if there would have been a recount called for, it would have been futile.

I think that these are all very serious concerns about our computerized voting system in Utah that need to be addressed.

I've also heard that during the primary elections, the provisional ballots were not even counted, but tossed in the garbage.

We definitely need to access whether or not Utah made good choices in voting machines. According to a national group, we have one of the most vulnerable systems in the nation.
