Ahh...this is great, while some of our buildings around campus are in dire need of maintenance and renovation they decide to develop the students most used parking lot. FANTASTIC idea.

The chemistry building really doesnt need new lab equipment, leaky tubes, broken sinks and valves, unusable analysis equipment, yeah your right...develping our parking should be the main priority here.

Glad to see my tuition is going toward improvement of study.

Thanks for making education top priority University. That is what we're paying for.

A better use of your tuition would be to teach I students English and spelling. That would be a FANTASTIC idea!

Interesting that tax and tuition dollars are going out-of-state. Way to help support our local economy, boys.

parking? | 8:33 p.m. Nov. 5, 2008
The U doesn't have nearly enough parking as it is- and the stadium lot is the one of the biggest and closest parking lots around. I agree, improving buildings or putting the resources to a more educational purpose would have been a better idea in my eyes.
can't believe it | 8:52 p.m. Nov. 5, 2008
After begging support of local businesses, the U goes out of state to spend money. Also, could someone explain to me the mumbo-jumbo language being used concerning this project
Big story | 12:06 p.m. Nov. 6, 2008
This is a big story but reads like a press release - which is OK if that is what it is. Was Mr. Perez asked any difficult questions?
"edge of prime" (Edge of prime?)
"project the university's commitment to promote sustainable practices." (What sustainable practices?)
"building in university and urban infill environments" (What?)
"demands and lifestyle needs of its distinctive customers" (Who?)
"cooperate with the surrounding community" (Would that be Salt Lake City?)
"encourage interest in the campus" (Would that be to interest local businesses.)
"some retail stores" (Would that be to compete with existing private stores?)
They could start building that "gateway" by spending the money locally.
