Just finished 25,000 names. The blessings are real and tangible, obvious and evident. Give it a try, you'll be blessed also.

Unfortunately, many of us are left out. The program does not support Macintosh computers and operating systems. Many of my friends have tried unsuccessfully to participate but we've been told "Sorry, you'll have to wait until we support your OS." Very disappointing.

My wife and I and many others have been using Macintosh computers to do indexing for years. While the church may not officially "support" Macintosh OS, they have been more than supportive in making FamilySearch Indexing available for us Mac users. I suggest you go to FamilySearchIndexing.org and take a look at computer requirements for the program. Hopefully you'll qualify and can get started in this exciting work.

Yes, I have a new iMac and it has no problem with Family Search Indexing. Send an email to their support services and a missionary will call you to help work out whatever bugs you are experiencing.

I think first of all, I need to buy a computer. My typing skill are good nonetheless.

Your spelling needs to be improved though. You will enjoy the Indexing once you get a computer. Good luck!

This indexing is amazing. I just finished my 91,800 names and I love it. My goal is 100,000 by the end of the year. I started doing it about Feb. My husband also help's and he hardly knew how to use the computer but he learned and is very good at it.
It is truly a blessing in our lives. Try it you will
love it.

This announcement was made on 9 Oct 2008 from Indexing Support
Indexing for the Mac now works properly. In order to fix it, all the Mac users have to do is go to the website and click Start Indexing.
So Mac users are back up on line and workable.
Completed almost 300k and enjoying every minute.

1. Feeling the Spirit in new, strong, impressive, UNEXPECTED ways.
2. REAL INTEREST and LOVE of family research, where before it was just forced, because we are "supposed" to do it.
3. My children (teens) magically and inexplicably wanted to happily help with the indexing.
4. Meeting SO MANY non-members(in our little out-of-Utah Family History Center) who have NO IDEA why they are feeling compelled to do family research. It is FUN to watch.
5. Nonmembers who are TERRIFIED (in many cases by their pastors, preachers etc) of Mormons and who wouldn't dream of coming into an LDS Church, or having anything to do with LDS members, are suddenly our greatest friends.
