Congratulations, Kearns. Good to see you win your homecoming game. From what I read in the article, it was closer than I thought it'd be. I really expected you to roll right over Copper Hills. While I think you can win next week against Riverton, it may be a tougher game than I'd have predicted before Bingham's game against them. Good luck.
I may be underestimating that strong passing attack of yours, Copper Hills. I guess I should have known better after your game with Riverton. How many yards did you get in the air that week? Over 300, if I remember right. From what I've seen, West Jordan should be no problem for you. Good luck to you as well.

it was a good game but the refs gave that game to kearns there was no way that was pass interference at the end which would of made kearns punt again and give copper hills another chance on O
Tim : correction | 1:21 p.m. Oct. 11, 2008
on the Roughing the kicker, it was Fatu Moala who was the punter not Taylor Whetman
Actually | 4:55 p.m. Oct. 11, 2008
It was Hernan Brown that got roughed punting the ball. #81. But it really doesnt matter. Kearns would be pretty good if their offense could just score when they have the ball inside the 20. Also the three feild goals were not blocked he just missed
Welcome Sign | 7:58 p.m. Oct. 11, 2008
As a Copper Hills fan we would like to thank Kearns for the "WELCOME GRIZZLES" sign. Just as a side note, "GRIZZLIES" would be have an "I" after the "L" and before the "E".

With region 3 winding down to the final 2 weeks, Copper Hills will need help to reaching their goal of the playoffs. With Bingham on top and Riverton, Kearns, and Hunter at 2-1 it will be difficult at best. With West Jordan and Copper Hills playing next week with records of 0-3, it will be a must win for both schools. With West Jordan facing Kearns in the final week they may have the best shot at forcing their way into a play-off position. Copper Hills will face Bingham in the final week and will need all the breaks to go their way if they have any hopes of playing in November. Good Luck to both teams.

Re: CH Fan: I was at the game and was cheering for CHHS. The "PI" call that was called late in the fourth quarter, as much as I do not want to say it, was the correct call. The defender did make contact with the receiver before the ball had arrived. One call from the officials does not make or break the game. Both teams had several opportunities to take control of the game and did not do it. Play calling was just one of the areas that left CHHS short on the score board. Kearns was very prepared for our passing plays. Several times they where able to take us out of our game plan. Give credit to Kearns for the way they played. If you would like to officiate, I am sure that the UHSAA would love to have you fill out an application for next years season. Until then, quit complaining and support your team.

It is time for Copper Hills to find a new coaching staff; these guys have had 4 years now to turn things around.

Parent: CHHS coaching staff is awesome. We have had a good season and some close games. We are getting there and next year should be even better! The coaches focus as much on our player off the field as on the field and these boys are learning some integrity at the same time they learn some foot ball.

"Turn out the lights...the party's over" and so should that pathetic so called coaching staff of CHHS. I was at the game. Really are you serious folks...floater passes, sloppy execution and poor play calling. Yeah that spells "AWESOME" CHHS Coaching! (Annonymous)once again CHHS feels it has the right of passage to the playoffs on 4 pre season wins..... Nice Real Nice.
Only 2 more games | 9:27 a.m. Oct. 13, 2008
And then I will tell you told you so!!!! CHHS won't beat WJ they can't they don't have the character!!! Facts are facts these two schools are sellar dwellars for a reason! They split the talented kids up and they keep losing ball games!
Observer | 12:25 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
I have to agree about the CHHS coaches splitting up the talented palyers only to hurt themselves over and over. Why are they doing this year after year??

To Observer
I might be wrong but I believe "Only 2 More Games" point was that WJ and CHHS are splitting the best players in the West Jordan area rather than have them go to one school. Like you say CHHS plays an offense/defense platoon system compared to WJ which pretty much plays it main players both ways. In either case as a coach you are "damned if you do and damned if you don't" when it comes to platooning players vs. playing them both sides of the ball. The only real solution is to win and then people think you are "spot on" but if you don't you will catch the heat regarding your choice. In reality both teams have had their moments good and bad but it really doesn't matter because everybody in Region 3 is playing for 2nd place after Bingham. Kearns and Riverton have some talent and might cause a match-up problem for somebody in the playoffs depending on who they draw. That should probably be a pretty good battle this week between the Silverwolves and the Cougars. As for the battle of West Jordan between the Grizzlies and Jaguars who knows what will happen?

Just a sidenote...not sure who the fact checker is, but Kearns won their Homecoming game vs. Granger back in 2003. (not 1996)
It's official! Told ya SO!! | 11:55 a.m. Oct. 18, 2008
Just incase you didn't know it's me again. I was waiting for the cellar dwellar game to be played before I announced my accuracy that Copper Hills would go winless in Region!
Fact is I would have posted this comment on the story of the west jordan game but come to find out there is no story! Aparently the paper wanted to be nice to the Grizzlies and not rub it in!
Anyone that says the season isn't over is kidding themselves! With Bingham next week, their JV/Sophies could beat Copper Hills varsity team!
