This is good to know. Thanks for letting us know about this. Yeah, I've never seen these medicines work with my children. I heard a few years ago that adult medicine probably doesn't work either. Well not buying these medicines will help us save money in these troubled times. Baby Tylenol fever reducer is probably still okay. Rub menthol on their feet, it does soothe coughs.

If you want to ban a product because it is causing side effects or lack of validity, then have some research to back it up. If it is because of overdose, then make the product containers more safe. I try as best I can to not give my children medicines that they do not need. But I don't agree with an article that wants to ban medicine because of an overdose problem. What if the children then start to overdose on adult cold medicine? Too many times we jump to assumptions that something is bad or wrong without any research to back it up.

Has anyone else ever tested the Vicks on the feet, then cover with socks? I tried it and found it to work about 80% better (by my own estimation) But have there ever been studies on this method? I'd be intrested to know. I originally heard about it from an email.

Sounds like the real problem here is parents that are not responsible. Does banning a product encourage responsibility in irresponsible parents?
