Great job Skyline! I keep my eye on a team we beat last year (sssshhhhhhh 49-0 in the playoffs), not to rub it in or worry, but to think of the amount of redemption you have in your blood to get back at Layton. Matter of fact, probably similar to what Layton has to want Alta back.

Anyhow, not to distract from your victory. Great job. These video clips did a great job highlighting your rushing attack. Since Layton had 1 yard total rushing all night (now both top running backs on the team are hurt, but will be back), I guess I enjoyed watching your video clip.

Congrats!

SKYLINE IS NUMBER 1! GOOD WIN!
Kearns! | 3:54 p.m. Sept. 20, 2008
I think that team is super ready for their region! They have played two solid teams the last few weeks in Alta and Skyline and they held their own in both games. I honestly think that if Kearns gets that offense going they could be the Region champs they just have to learn to overcome hardship and play through the momentum changes!

I think Hunter and Kearns will battle for the top with Bingham, I honestly think Bingham is a little over rated! Take away the run and don't give up huge plays against them and they have nothing! They didn't even have a 100 yards of offense against Alta, Kearns was just as good!

how come skyline and viewmont have a video thing on here almost every week? give some other teams some love

How can you "hold you own" with teams when they both beat you by 4 tds and had second and third strings in. If you would have been there last night, kearns can't stop the run. Thats all skyline did. They ran all over you and that is exactly what bingham will do. Kearns had two first down against alta that weren't the result of penalties...TWO!!!and they only had 166 total yards last night. Guess thats how kearns "holds their own"

Hey Skyline just wanted to say kudos on owning Kearns just like we did. They didn't really hold their own but oh well ha ha. Anyways see you in a few days

Game of the ages

Yes, Skyline did run all over Kearns defense. They run the option. It's assignment football. Bingham does not run the same offense. Kearns is ready for region play. Besides - Kearns has come a VERY long way in 2 years! In 2005, who would've guessed Kearns would be a contender! Great Job Cougars! Keep At It! Keep Building that path to Victory! Kudos to Kearns for putting Alta & Skyline on their schedule - at least they're not afraid to go against tough teams in pre-season - like many other teams out there!

how can they be contenders when they get whooped by a team 35-7 that is not even in the top 5 in 5A? Kearns is NOT a contender just because you say so. Just because you play great teams and get owned does not make you a good team.

Ouch! That was rough... True, but rough... Regardless of whether they won or lost I also say kudo's to Kearns for scheduling how they did. Whether you like Kearns or not scheduling Alta and Skyline isn't something most teams are willing to do so much respect to them.

I have my opinion, you have yours! We disagree! Go Cougs! The Kearns team has come a long way in a very short while. It's easy to win with a team that's twice as big and has a winning tradition. But building this program that's been in the gutters within 2 years is a great accomplishment and the coaches and team should be very proud! They are a contender in their own eyes and that's all that matters! That's half of the battle! You can come down on them all you want - but it's not going to change my mind! I'm very proud of them and every year they are getting better and better. Coach Cosper is doing an outstanding job on and off the field with the team. GO COUGS!

the kearns line has some major beef. I'm sure their line averages around 280ish. The skyline offensive line averages 6-2 225 so dont use that as an excuse. Everyone knows the game is determined more often than not at the line. Yours was out physicalled by a smaller line so don't use they were bigger than you as an excuse. take a look at the clips on this article. The skyline line is standing in the shadows of the kearns beef

...You're the one dreaming!!!! I was referring to the number of players NOT the size of the players - good grief! No excuses being made here. Only referring to the fact that Kearns has developed a team that went from scoring no points and in the mercy rule to a team that can compete - all within 2 years.
