Number 7 is something I learned in my last year as an undergrad. If I had just figured that one out sooner, I probably would have enjoyed singles wards better.

I would add one more. Give yourself some time. Stick these uncomfortable social situations out for a month or six weeks and don't crawl back home every weekend! Things will change for you. You'll figure it out, and love it if you just try.
