Congratulations are sure slow coming to a major feat. One football game gets 279 comments and here Miss Jensen gets zero comments. Being a football fan, I have never seen live ballet, but what a feat this young woman has accomplished. I, for one, am really impressed. First and only woman and first American in a44 year history to win in anything are like winning eight gold medals, the Super Bowl, the World Series all rolled into one. Congratulations Whitney.

I am a dancer--did ballet at a high level for years, and I was STUNNED at this great accomplishment! It is such an amazing achievement, I can't believe we are just hearing about it if she received this honor last month! I hope the Utah and American community can recognized this woman for her great achievement! This is not just like winnning a gold medal in the olympics, this is much, much more! Ballet is considered by some an art, and by some a sport. This most amazing thing is that it is both. To win a competition like this you must be an amazing athlete as well as one of the greatest artists! Congratulations Whitney!!!

Have never met or seen this young woman, but what an impressive accomplishment. I agree with Brother Dave that she should be getting hundreds of congratulations. Not just a personal accomplishment, but a plus for this country.

i too think this is marvelous---having long ago dated a ballerina i know the determination required to be good and the dedication required to be great and to be in the right place at the right time in both preparation and performance must have felt amazing

I remember what an amazing dancer your sister Bryn was (and probably still is). As soon as I saw your last name was Jensen I knew you had to be related to her. Congratulations on such an amazing accomplisment! I hope you get to continue to follow your dreams!!

Reading the headline I thought "That's pretty impressive." Reading the article I realized just how amazing it is. I don't know much about ballet, but...wow! Congratulations Whitney!

Whitney! Way to go! This is about 80 times more important than Archie getting to the American Idol finals or High School Musical being filmed at East High. This is about a real artistic prodigy doing it the right way! You make everyone (even cultured people) in Utah, very proud. Congrats!!!!

Way to go, Whitney! I think I was at Radio City the year that you were Clara. Follow your dreams, and achieve them! Thank you for your example to so many young teens.

What an incredible achievement to reach the higheset echelons of the ballet world. We oftentimes get caught up in celebrating the greatness of mediocrity (e.g. American Idol, Dancing with the Stars) and while not taking away from those accomplishments, this far outdistances those in terms of importance and difficulty. Congratulations!

Congratulations witney! We watched her at the competition in VARNA ( me and my students). They saw that if we want something that much then we can make it happen. To dance with our heart at least! She has a great tecnique!!!

Congratulations, Whitney! The photographs are spectacular. They show a supremely confident ballerina with fabulous technique (hip turnout, arm placement, head and shoulder position--which attest the Russian method) and artistry. I just wish we could see a video of the competition performance you gave. Undoubtedly, you are abundantly blessed with natural talent, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and the guidance of a savvy mom and gifted teachers. We look forward to seeing you on the world stage. All the best to you!

Our daughter, Natalia knows Whitney and has danced with her at Valentina's. She is every bit as sweet as she is talented. Great things await this very hard working beautiful dancer! Bravo!

Whitney has always been amazing. After seeing her youtube Black Swan video at only 13, I didn't think that this talented young women could get any better...but after seeing her Varna performance on youtube...clearly she did! She was amazing then and continues to move forward. My daughter is also very serious about ballet and Whitney is always an inspiration to her! Congratulation Whitney!!!!!
