I really can't understand why the Governor would stoop to this assignment. This nominations is by far the most politically motivated exercise in my lifetime. How can the Gov even remotely make her appear qualified?

How can the Democratic party even remotely make Obama appear qualified?

Palin tonight, steps on the shoulders of feminist that paved her way for her nomination. I'm teary eyed seeing the fruits of my literalism ripen tonight. Even conservatives can't deny women equal rights.

So I didn't get a chance to hear Huntsman speak...
Did he end up addressing environmental reform in the GOP like he had planned?
Or did he just talk up Palin?

OK, I'm on board with you on Palin making strides for women. But if you think this is going to set a GOOD precedent for women, I think you might need to open your eyes. In her first lone speech to her own party, Palin referred to women as dogs and blatantly lied to Americans not once, but twice. She said Obama was for talks without preconditions. LIE. She said she said thanks but no thanks to the bridge to nowhere. LIE! We know you were for it before you were against it, we know you actively pursue earmarks, and we know you ran a town of 5,000 into the ground. Congrats on your resume. I'd prefer someone with hopeful inexperience to two people with experience in destruction and bad judgment, who have demonstrated that they have no interest in making viable our domestic economic interests. My mind wasn't made up until I heard this piece of work speak.

Is a complete joke.

Gov. Huntsman is "rewarded" for his loyalty with this prize? It's a joke that he allows himself to be a pawn of the salty, cranky, philandering, old sailor. But that's politics...
I don't see how Utah's Republicans, who rejected the semi-honest Arizona senator by a 90% margin, can support this poor substitute for a statesman. I guess that in politics we can transfer the virtues of the father to the son. So many of our politicians nowadays are profiting from the character of their ancestors, although the competence and integrity of the new generation is severely diminished, if not absent altogether.
Never before in American politics have we been faced with a more severe case of trying to choose between the lesser of two evils, as we are in this presidential election.
