No less a thinker than Peter Drucker said that community colleges were the difference between the U.S. and the rest of the world because of the effective way they turn out 'gray-collar' workers.

A few other countries have community colleges, but their students get even less respect outside the U.S. that they do here.

The author's right, community colleges are a bargain: for students and for society as a whole.
