Good comment, Doug.

We need Highland Drive all the way to Bangerter.

There are too many gutless Sandy-Draper politicians who don't want to confront a bunch of soccer moms, or golfers, over this important east side arterial.

So, instead of this arterial that may someday save lives, if we needed to undertake an emergency evacuation of the southeast corner of the valley, we get an idiotic Draper TRAX extension at the same cost to car-driving taxpayers, $270 million.. full-build. The modeling for this boneheaded train shows it will have no impact on congestion. Read their report.

Our leaders are contesting for the title of most innumerate in their efforts to ignore the data showing these rails accomplishing virtually nothing.

If someone explains to the golfers and soccer-moms that their children's or grandchildren's lives may one day depend on that road for their lives, they might give it a second look. Trouble is, our brilliant politicians will have already dumped almost $20 billion$ into the UTA moneypit for inconsequential rails and a failing-receding bus system.

The ultimate winners will be the environemntal extremists who reAlly want to destroy our car-highway transportation system and mold our society more to their liking.
