I'm no homer but take this to the bank.....Bingham will run the table with 12 straight wins and beat a tough Alta team in the Championship game at Rice-Eccles.
wow? | 10:32 a.m. Aug. 30, 2008
To predict a win in the championship game already. With an 0-2 start I don't think Bingham fans should be making any predictions! I think the playing field is a little bit more level this year.
Surprises may happen during the regular season more than people expect. Look at Layton losing to a 4A school and they were suppose to be the third best in 5A? Yea right! There aren't as many top tier teams as you think this year. The level of play as the season goes on is going to determine who wins state! I personally am really thinking Skyline may have 1 more championship for Dupaix before they go to 4A!

ENUFFFFF! | 4:00 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Bingham Alta is old news. Who cares. They aren't the only games or stud players in the state. Bingham down this year makes Alta up Howabout lets cover some real games.
Layton | 5:31 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Layton barely lost to a good Cottonwood team after digging themselves a 3 touchdown hole...
all without their star running back
all without their star running back

yea lets cover hillcrest and west jordan... maybe east or south towne mall secerity squad... cuz alta bingham r horrible teams and never have classic games... like last night it wasnt awesome to see altas spectacular catches and bingham have some amazing returns not to mention a huge comeback and altas d?... hmmm... they aint fun to watch destroy teams... like the championship last year where the 4 horse man got smashed... boring right?... ps how many people went to the alta game last night.. about 8 thousand?...
Big Games | 7:05 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Only big game I know about is the Alta / Bingham game in Utah for high school. Starting to look like a BYU vs Utah game. Look how many people come to watch the two utah powerhouse teams play each other. You can bet everything you have that when these two teams play, it's going to be a great game. Both teams have great coaches and kids. This year Alta happens to be the better team.
JORDAN update | 7:22 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Jordan tied at the half with Massillon, Ohio. It is 14-14.

andy:
bingham and alta are very good programs right now and deserve some coverage....but honestly your love affair with bingham football is getting hard to take...i understand dick harman is supposed to cover byu 24/7, but bingham football seems to be mentioned every article, week in and week out, and is getting beyond old....there were several kids who ran kickoffs back, but the bingham boy gets your kudos? ...there are many good players out there as well as many good coaches and games to report on.....many in our profession feel coach peck should win with the talent he has....he does a good job with them...but in honesty he didn't win much at the schools he was at before bingham....try a fox new approach once in a while: be fair and balanced

Congrats Jordan | 8:40 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Jordan 27 - Massillon, OH 24
No details of the game yet, but it appears as though Jordan scored right at the end in a game that was back and forth all night! (Got my info from FridayNightOhio.com)
Utah goes and rolls in the Big House (Michigan) and Jordan goes next door and rolls vs. one of the legendary high school programs in the country!
Sky View rolled huge against Campbell Co, WY.
Haven't heard how Northridge did vs. Crespi, CA yet.
Keep rolling vs. out of state schools!

We are simply the best (in all sports). Can you say Knights will reign supreme in Utah football. Go Lone Peak!!! AMEN.

Great job Jordan. Not to undermine their win, but the OH team they played was 0-2, having only scored a couple TDs & giving up 50+ pts in those games. Just 1 word of caution JOrdan....don't ride too high on this win. Layton is coming into your house to rock the Diggers world! Last time Layton went to JOrdan (well, actually was at Cottonwood's fake field), with Layton losing at the end after a last second chance to win.....there's some redemption. Layton is going to rough up some Beetdiggers on their own fake grass field! Will be a great game!

Oh yeah, and did you think the Kirk Herbstreet Classic organizers would put a UT team up against their strongest local team. One word, No. They'd put a weaker team up against Jordan. It's too bad. I think Jordan deserves to play a better team if they spend the money and time to travel clear to OH. They represented our great state very well, regardless of who they played. They were the only team west of 1 TX team invited to the classic nat'l tournament.

You are a clueless fool. If you don't know what you're talking about, keep your mouth shut! Massillon had played one game so far, and they beat Akron Buchtel 45 to 29. By the way, your Lancers will have a two game losing streak after this coming Friday.
Clueless eh? | 10:46 a.m. Aug. 31, 2008
Here's where I got the info. Maybe I'm wrong, just using Herbstreit's website. Where'd you get your info, from last year? (hopefully website will show after I post, if not, just google Herbstreit Football Series, and make sure you're looking at the current series. Also, it's in CAnton, OH) The team Jordan played is Washington High in Massillion, OH. Click on their name & schedule, showing they're 0-2. So, if I am cluelss and need to shut up, please tell Kirk Herbstreit his website is wrong.
Massillon | 5:21 p.m. Aug. 31, 2008
Massillon is now 1-1. We won against a struggling Akron Buchtel team in week one, falling to Jordan Saturday night.

As a part of the Jordan high school team i just wanna tell you that you should be pretty emberassed about your 4 page reviews that you wrote on how stupid people were for getting the wrong info. hate to break it to ya bud.. you got the wrong info. first of all no we didnt play washington high in massillon. we played Massillon High School. The tigers. They might ring a bell as the 4th most winningest high school team in the nation? second of all they had played on game at that point and they beat butchel 49-27. Take it from somebody who was there and maybe next time try to read up a little more
Alta vs. Bingham | 8:56 p.m. Aug. 31, 2008
The press needs to cut their romantic love affair with Bingham and Alta!
Bingham vs. Alta is played out!
Bingham is back to their pre-glory days! Just another mediocre team.

Massillon | 6:45 a.m. Sept. 1, 2008
Massillon is the third winningest program in the country. Check www. massillonproud.com for accurate information about Massillon's history. Massillon is in the process of rebuilding this year with a new coach so I have to agree and say Massillon is no where near a top school in Ohio, unfortunately. They have been chosen to play in the Herbie this year on reputation as the previous year we went 6-4 failing to make the playoffs.
I stand corrected | 8:39 p.m. Sept. 1, 2008
OK, so I relied on the Herbstreit webpage, and get the wrong info. I stand corrected. I will shut up now. Kirk Herbstreit peeps....get it right next time! I believe when a UT team goes out of state, they deserve to play the best. As I said before, who wants to spend the time, effort and money to travel all that way to play a crappy team? Great job Jordan. Next challenge.....Layton blue on your turf.
Massillon | 8:14 a.m. Sept. 2, 2008
I would not say Massillon is a "crappy" team. Average this season would be more accurate. Unfortunately, the Herbstreit Classic has the tendency to select programs just on reputation. Canton McKinley also played in the Herbstreit this year and they went 3-7 the previous season. Like Massillon they also have a new coach this year as well as a completely new offensive scheme. I do agree, though, that the Herbstreit needs to select only the best programs to represent Ohio high school football year in and year out.

Take my word you will see the davis darts and the bingham miners at rice eccles
