i am personally salivating for the opp to jump all over the reynolds brotha hood. time will tell how good they really are but i know the ute lineman will dominate, make that a capitol, boo yah!
watch it | 2:55 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
You Utes should stop worrying about BYU and start worrying about your game in the Big House against Michigan. We need you guys to beat them so that when BYU beats you guys it will help us more in the polls. Check your priorities...

that was one of the weakest posts yet.
No Yewt lineman will ever dominate.
The Blue Wall will leave them watching the game from the turf.
Glad the Reynolds brothers are wearing Cougar blue!
I personally know Matt and Dallas (Not to mention "little" brother Houston). They are great kids who will go far.

Michigan, Michigan is your next game. FFooccuuss!
Bob in line | 7:10 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Watch it is right. Stay focused on Michigan, go undefeated so our victory of the Utes in Rice Eccles will be that much sweeter.
So who has the scoop about the next "little" Reynolds kid Houston? If we are looking at the fourth Reynolds to play for BYU we should get the scoop now.
What I'd like to see is another Kafusi or two on the d-line.
Go BYU!

Just for the record, I don't think it matters where the fans focus, as long as the team focuses on the next game.
"sugar me red" is obviously not a player, because even whit doesn't let his players say such stupid and nonsensical things.
ute linemen dominating... I almost blew milk through my nose I was laughing so hard!

Why does a freshman come in (with the experienced O-Line from last year) to take his brother's spot and they move his brother center? Oh, I forgot, their father is coaching on the BYU team! Hello....there are better experienced players!!!

More Kaufusi's are on the way....
I think Houston is on a mission but committed before he left. I'm not 100% positive on that one though...

For the love can we Ute fans say anything about Zoob nation without you having to come back and put your two cents worth in. All Sugar me red's comments were about is how excited they are about playing BYU and everybody has to chime in and say "BETTER FOCUS ON MICHIGAN FIRST" Cripes at least we schedule a real opponant to start the season. Northen Iowa is like scheduling a game with Provo High School. Whether you like to hear it or not the UTES are going to be good and I wouldn't be surprised if they turn some heads this year....
RE: sugar me red | 8:09 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Typical ute... home alone on the internet at 1:47 in the morning spewing his drunken nonsense for the public.
He should be thinking about Michigan.. the first game of the season not dwelling on what will be the last game of the utes season. So much for his boo yah!

Hey everybody | 8:13 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
I liked 'sugar me red's' comments. Doesn't it remind you of the pre-Crowton years, when their smack was big and their smack down even bigger?
It's good to have BYU & Utah football back in their proper places isn't it? The north wind whining faintly as we crunch them year after year...

I like it | 8:14 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
I like the double meaning to the headline of this article. Big brothers on the block - Matt and Dallas - and BYU is also utah's Big Brother. Maybe next we'll see a story called Little Brothers on the Block about the utes.
Hoosier | 8:16 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Houston is on his mission in Germany and is slated to also play center when he returns.

RE: 93 cougar. No Ute lineman will ever dominate. Who has the most lineman in the NFL right now? Utah 12, BYU 7. Which is more? And 9 are on the d-line. But no UTE linman will ever dominate.
Uh Battle Ute | 8:45 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
You are also playing Weber State this year, so get over your high and mighty self.
Ah yes | 9:08 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
The north wind whine. It's always the same. Starts out as a false warning, goes through a couple weeks of excuses, and is quickly beaten down to the whine.
Let the smack roll | 9:25 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
I say let the Utes talk their smack, it'll make them feel even sillier when BYU rips their hearts out again in November.
Beat Michigan, and Go Cougs beat the beauty school technical college of northern something, ha ha, I am a Coug fan, but it's okay to laugh at ourselves.

Ute line men haven't dominated the BYU line for years.
Doesn't matter what happens at the next level or how many players are where. We are talking BYU vs. Yewtah.
The yewt d-line has never dominated the cougars.
Enough said.

They better be good | 11:22 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
It sounds to me like our 0-line is the absolute key to our success this season. The more I read the more I realize that if these hogs can't keep Hall upright for the entire season we are dead. Don't be dissusional enough to think Collie could QB us to any kind of sustained success beyond a nice trick play or two and it starting to sound like our backup QBs would struggle against most local high schools. It is scary with such an overall talented team to realize just how vulnerable we are if one position - QB - goes down.
Blue Blue | 11:41 a.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Battle Ute check the schedule... you guys play freaking Weber State! ... oh conveniently forgot that did ya?
re: They better be good | 12:09 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
"0-line" instead of "O-line"? "dissusional"? "our backup QBs would struggle against most local high schools"?
That has to be a post by a yoot troll. Nice try, bozo.

Yeah, I'm going to the BYU game against the Davis Darts. GO DARTS!
Utah dominance | 12:16 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
It's possible at Weber or Logan. The NFL is nice, but Harline took Weddle to the wood shed. Maybe The Hill billies would win in a fantasy league.
Here we go again | 12:16 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Starting a reynolds over more experienced, and talented players has been a staple for years at BYU. doesn't matter who is there, they'll move everyone around so daddy's boys can play.
Kewger crybabies | 12:27 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Utah had Jordan Gross drafted in 2003 (Pick #8)....When was the last time Kewgers had a top 10 lineman
weak schedule | 12:55 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
For all the talk about BYU's "weak" first opponent, we should probably remind everyone that in the middle of their season the yewts face a perrenial powerhouse, without a winning record for who knows how long, in the mighty wildcats from Weber State. At least the cougs play a subdivision team with a 12-win season last year.
To: Kewger crybabies | 1:08 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
And don't forget Utah should also be proud of their recent #1 draft pick Alex Smith...Who stinks so badly that he is being benched on one of the worst teams in the NFL! Draft order means nothing. Time for Utah QB's to start winning a few super bowls in the NFL bro, then we can talk.
Kevin of the Terrace | 1:48 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Even if Hall goes down, the Y will be a force offensivly. The two biggest keys to the Y offense are 1) the O-line and 2) RB's Unga and Vakapuna. Its not the passing game! Think back to last year (and the year before that), the teams that the Y offense struggled with the most (if you can even use that word in regards to the Y offense) were the ones that stopped the run. The Y offense will have a bigger drop off if Unga goes down and Vakapuna can't pick up the slack than if Hall goes down. I strongly suspect that Collie to Unga on the option is what is coming this season. It brings back memories of Doman to Staley.
Kevin in the Terrace | 1:53 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Northern Iowa would beat Weber St in a head to head game! So stop flapping your Yewt yappers.
Weber State | 2:05 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Hey utes we are looking for you! We scored 62 in our first game. We are going to kick your butts when we play you. Weber State will be the king of football in the state. The utes will lose to Weber State.
Kevin is Embarrassed | 2:10 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Weber State would never schedule Northern Iowa. They try to IMPROVE thier reputation whenever possible.
Question... | 2:24 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
I live on the East Coast. Does anyone know how I can get internet access to watch BYU games? I can't get Direct TV to get the package, and would like to watch the games. Any help would be great!
Weber State | 2:36 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
I predict Weber will kick some Ywete Booty. Ywetes aint crap again. Where is Urban when you need him? I guess he took the first bus out of town.
re: Question | 3:03 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
If you cant get the MTN (and your not alone) i think the only other option is to listen to the game on KSL radio. they have an internet site. sorry for the bad news.

pussy
oh please | 3:39 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Oh wow another Reynolds to block. Big suprise since they all play for daddy's team. The youngest 2 are much better than the older ones and I believe USC wanted the one on a mission but the best move BYU ever made with it's o-line was to move Dallas to center. If you look at a lot of it not most of the sacks, hurries and fumbles Hall had you will notice that the guy apply pressure lined up on Dallas and ran around him cause he is too slow and not that good. It is better to have him on the inside and not hte outside.Good move to move him so Hall has less of a chance at getting hurt cause some one who actually knows how to play tackle can protect him on the outside
Collie to Unga? | 3:55 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Collie to Unga brings back memories of Doman to Staley? Ummm, the only difference being that Doman was an actual QB. Worked at his craft for years and was good enough to stick in the NFL for a few years. Collie last played when he was ten folks. If Collie actually plays QB - rather than coming in for some gimmick plays - we will lose. Mendenhall has bought into Collie's "I live righteously off the field therefore I can move mountains" rhetoric. Collie behind center as a full-time QB if Hall goes down is one mountain even Collie can't move. Take a breath Bronco, clear your head, and play your backup QBs at - get ready for this - backup QB!
Here we go again. | 4:06 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Surprise surprise, a couple reynolds playing together again. Wow, we haven't seen this kind of favoritism since 2005. Some things never change, Daddy's boys will always play even ahead of other more experienced player. Some things will never change.
That is..... | 4:26 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
a lot of beef. I wouldn't want to get caught between the Reynold brothers on the field....LOL!!
come on | 4:37 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Why are people complaining about BYU having a weak schedule? So they have a weak game this year. WHO CARES!!!!!! Didn't they have USC and Notre Dame in the same season a few times? And I know Florida State is not what they used to be but they are still a solid team and BYU has them on a future schedule for a few years. And BYU had Boise St the year they went undefeated until the bowl game. And really if you look at future schedules Utah State has the toughest non conference schedules over the next 2 or 3 season out of Utah BYU and Utah State so really everyone is week compared to them(not really this year but in the next few to come) You can find the upcoming non conference schedules for the schools somewhere on the Dnews. That is where I saw it anyways but quit complaining about schedules cause each school has a "weak" schedule every now and again but I honestly don't think that they try to pick weak schedules. Sometimes you do the best with what you get and BYU didn't have many options this year
Conejo | 4:53 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
LOL. LOL. Now we have Defensive Lineman smack? The Utes are really scraping the bottom of the barrel! The score of the game doesn't matter to them, just as long as they get more defensive lineman playing in the NFL!
RE: Here we go again. | 5:19 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
I wondered how long it would take. But I have a news flash for you - the Reynolds boys don't play because their dad is a coach. Their dad got hired as a coach so we could get his boys!
Which explains why I didn't get hired. It's my kid's fault.

RE: Here we go again.
Their dad was hired when the boys were like 2 years old! What an idiotic comment! And for all of you who don't seem to be aware, "daddy" doesn't coach the offensive line. the running backs coach makes no decisions regarding who plays or starts on the o-line! do any of you know how this works?? if weber didn't like what a player was doing, he'd move them out, and put someone else in. why do you make it any more conspiratorial than that?? get your facts straight. and as for the "favoritism" in 2005, oldest reynolds who was "favored" i believe was the only one who went into the NFL right? so for all the "better" players who should have been playing before him, gimme a break.

Houston is the youngest, he is 6'3" and about 310-ish. He played o-line and d-line in high school. He is returning late next spring from germany and did commit to byu before he left.
News Flash | 6:34 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Lance Reynolds has coached at BYU for 29 years. So I guess if they hired him to get his boys they must have a fantastic way of evaluating young talent...even pre-mortal talent.
Now, I suppose you could say that Crowton or Bronco kept him on the staff to get the boys...that would be a different story.
Now, I suppose you could say that Crowton or Bronco kept him on the staff to get the boys...that would be a different story.
Context people, context. | 8:20 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Lance has been a coach for 29 years at BYU, yes, but he was hired as the "assistant BYU head coach" (which is what "RE: Here we go again @ 5:19" was talking about) when Bronco Mendenhall was hired (after also having previously been a coach at BYU) as head coach.
yeah | 8:49 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
you're saying a coach could be a successful runningbacks coach utilizing phenomenal talent and keeping things semi-sane at byu for nearly 30 years... and that's all a fluke? he was "kept on" at byu for his sons? are you serious? could it be that lance is a very good coach and his sons are very good players who chose to go to a school they love and are loyal to? trust me when i tell you that lance is responsible for the RBs- not the o-line, whether his kids are on the line or not.
Re: sugar me red | 8:54 p.m. Aug. 29, 2008
Is he psychotic? The utes can only talk about a weak BYU schedule if they forget Wever and USU. Talk about patsies.
