I guess... this is real? You can see a lot of this that is discussed here on CBS after 9 pm. Hmmmmm. Oh... I forgot, it is my old hometown American Fork. Never mind.

This poor girl... she did nothing wrong, and she gets her life turned all around. Heck, the kids could have gone to the library and looked online at the same stuff, but the library employees wouldn't be taken to court. DUH.

This was somewhat of an over reaction by the justice system. She didn't do anything wrong.

Future problems for her | 12:23 a.m. Aug. 26, 2008
After she gets her nursing degree, this record might come back to cause difficulties for her, too, and so unnecessarily. I hope that her record will be expunged after successful completion of whatever sentence she received. This was wrong to accuse her of doing something she did not do. She was an employee, it was not her book, but the store owner's, and the kids apparently distracted her so they could look at it. Where is their liability and responsibility in this?

She made or allowed material not appropiate for minors to view to be viewed by minors.
Sound like something wrong to me.
But I don't know why any you are complaining she got of with nothing but a hand slap.

hand slap? | 6:19 p.m. Aug. 27, 2008
I think it's safe to suggest that if the Utah County Prosecutor thought they had a real complaint against her they would have burned her at the stake rather than simply drop the charges.
Dropping the charge is proof the county had no case - no hand slap involved - just a lot of wasted time, money and unnecessary stress on innocent citizens.
This was a tremendous over reaction that should have been treated as a parent-child issue and stayed in the family, not made into a criminal case.
The AF Police should be ashamed of themselves.

Who really determines what's considered allowable for minors anyway? It's not like this was the ONLY place in all of Utah county where one small paged book existed and this book existed in the name of "anatomy" if you will to show skills and not show off body parts. Someone made a comment about the library, VERY good point so if something is wrong there then why don't we start a witch hunt and get it ALL removed. Let's do a good old fashioned book burning. That's not been done in my lifetime. That could be amusing at the very least and let's lock up EVERYONE who shows ANYTHING to these "minors" since they are oh so innocent...."got off with nothing but a hand slap" Looks like someone needs to go back to the beginning and read things from the start before calling this a "hand slap"
