Comparing the audience of "Twilight" to those of the Harry Potter movies is rather ridiculous. The large number of male readers excited about Harry Potter likely will have little or no interest in the Twilight movie. Perhaps more female readers will, but the stories are really very different, despite the fantasy elements present in both.

Lest you forget, Twilight was originally slated to come out in mid-December and only just moved into the cinematic realestate left vacant by Mr. Potter.

Supposing attendance is the reason for delaying release of Harry Potter's latest film; I don't think the release of "Twilight" and "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" would interfere with the ratings of one or the other even if they were released in the same week. Those who are fans of both books, and many are, will go to see both movies. What movie goer ever goes to only one movie a year anyway? I could certainly fit both of them into my schedule, even if it meant I had to attend two movies in one weeks time. One movie would be fun. Two movies would be more fun.

My feeling about the "Harry Potter" move is that now we finally have a safe bet for a good blockbuster next summer. All of the other big releases are a little shaky.
