What a dumb article.

This is just the kind of radical rhetoric that forces extremism that is harmful, unhealthy, and dangerous. Black-White thinking; All or nothing; Hot or Cold, but never lukewarm.

This is bad advice. Very bad. Reject it.

Jason, let me give you a bit of advice, since you seem a bit naive. Try living your life trying to serve more than one "master", so to speak, and see just how far you get. The world is full of people who live "in the middle", never having the guts to stand up for what really is right, keeping each foot on each side of the fence. And, this has nothing to do with extremism, or jihad. It is having a set of principles that you do not deviate from, choosing good over evil, right over wrong. The extremists don't differentiate.

My wife and I thought it was a great article and very true. We have to take a stand at some time in our lives and we have to decide which way we want to go. Once on that path, either way, it will make all the difference on where we end up. We have just returned from a mission serving the military at Fort Lewis, WA, and have observed exactly what you are talking about. We love your articles, Jerry.

between choosing good over evil and being "in the middle of the road" on many issues. Some don't like to admit that there are many things in life that have both good and evil in them. For instance, a person can be against the taking of a life, but be for self defense which may end up taking a life. There are many such instances and exeptions in life. Life IS this experience and we must learn that others can be different than us (which may sometimes even seem evil), but that does not mean that it neccessarily is. Many years ago a person that was left-handed was considered evil. Now, we know differently and laugh at this. In the future, people may laugh at some of the things we considered "evil". If we keep our opinions somewhere in the middle it can many times aid in our road to discovery.
