What's the problem?

If the leaders of a country don't want American troops in it - just get the [bleep] out.

I know this goes against neoconservative ideals but, so what?

I feel like we should respect the Iraqi government. I'd love to see our troops out by June and to see Iraq with a functional and stable government without US intervention

then bush's war profiteering buddies will start to lose income. he'll need to start another war first to keep them in business.

Just wait...a few more months and Bush and Cheney will both be on the board of Halliburton and one or more big oil company. Remember, you read it here first.
don't blame us | 1:33 p.m. Aug. 20, 2008
We tried to warn the conservatives that it would ultimately come to this - but they voted for Cheney/Bush anyway.
Ive been to Iraq!!! | 1:36 p.m. Aug. 20, 2008
Having been there for 4 years and having a understanding for the Iraqi People and the country, not what we have been fed by the news here in the US, When ever the withdrawel happens we will be returning within 5 years as Iraq will become a terorist state! The military is needed there but needs to melt into the back ground and leave the cities except when needed

The warring Iraqi factions have been at each other's throats for generations. As have most Arab nations.

When we cut-and-ran in Vietnam, the communist regime took over in a matter of days. Today we are friendly trading partners with communist Vietnam.

I see the day when we do the same thing in Iraq and get a piece of the oil action too.
not with my son | 3:26 p.m. Aug. 20, 2008
McCain said we could stay a hundred years. Not with my son's son son son...

Romney does not have to worry about McCain's view, though, because none of his boys have served. hmmmm.

Looks like we going to vacate part of Iraq... has anyone told McCain that victory must be at hand?

What a crock.

Are you suggesting that if we leave Iraq that it will turn out friendly like Vietnam?

Don't forget that Vietnam was not harboring and raising TERRORISTS! HELLO ! I completely agree that we WILL be going back in less than three years if we back out now. I don't care who the political leader is at the time, we won't have a choice but to fight and that will be the time that all the rich, spoiled little daddy's kids will have to face REALITY.

I say that if you haven't served in the U.S. Military then you shouldn't be leaving comments on posts that include politics with other countries.

This poor deluded poster above has totally bought into the neocon's "terror card" that got their dynamic duo Cheney and Bush in their unlimited power positions.

The rest of America is simply not buying the GOP's usual politics of terror and are wise to the worst administration of all time.

If he really wants to do something about terror, I'd suggest he study what was wrong with Timothy McVeigh.
well said!! | 7:44 p.m. Aug. 20, 2008
wow, what accuracy: yes, timothy mcveigh was definitely a surprise wasn't he. and he was one of ours, children.

The Bush admin. is now following the Obama playbook.

who would have thought.... Obama is the man!!!.........
