I would have like to have seen him wait. That would have been classy.

I agree. If he had waited like the others, he would have my respect. It could only have been better if they had denied him his celebrity status and treated him just like everyone else.
I will tell you now that being a celebrity won't get you "Jack" in my store - particularly if you try to use your "status". In my store we are all same and any legal job is noble. Oh, and by the way, regardless of a person's "job" the money spends the same.
Wait your turn!!!

You two just sound jealous that no one gives you that kind of treatment in life. Leave D-Wade alone you would have done it too.

The money may spend the same, but they can spend a whole lot longer than I can...
Not a flattering spin | 9:12 p.m. Aug. 17, 2008
Sounds to me like the reporter played a negative spin in the article against Wade. I can see him joking around with the woman trying to sell him a Gatorade with his own picture on it. However the reporter makes it sound as if he was solely being stingy to a very poor woman. Give me a break... Are there some perks to being a celebrity like not having to wait in lines? Absolutely, but there are definitely plenty of negatives (always being harassed in public, ask yourself the last time you went to a movie or dinner and had dozens of people surrounding you wanting your autograph, etc...). Many times celebrities are given special privileges for their and other's safety. Imagine climbing the uneven steps of the Great Wall with a mob surrounding you. It may have been the case that it was a safety issue that got them bumped up. Again, sounds more like a negative spin on a fun experience. These guys have proven their patriotism this round attending other events and making the other athelete's day showing their support.

Negative spin? Sounds like you read with negative spin. That wasn't a negative story at all. Sounds like skipping the line was the least he could do given how many autographs he probably signed.
And according to the story he gave the woman the 10 bucks, or whatever, that she asked for. So how is that negative. Wade was just being funny.
What the heck were you reading?
