I don't understand something. Why are producers so set on who will NOT star in a movie version of Wicked. That seems a little unfair in my opinion and also like age-ism in a way. If Ms. Chenoweth looks good and can still do the role, why shouldn't it be offered to her? And the same goes for Ms. Menzel as well. If they know the roles and won awards for the roles and can absolutely perform the roles, why not go to them?

The problem is, Kristen Chenoweth is already 40 years old. If the movie isn't filmed for another decade we'd be looking at a 50 year old Glinda. Miss Chenoweth looks younger than she is, but 50 would really be pushing it for a spriteful, young, popular, school-age beauty queen. I'd imagine the producer pointed this casting issue out simply because her fans seem determined against all odds to see her play the role on screen.

One note to Ms. Hansen: There is no such thing as a "Wicked" soundtrack. There is only a cast album. Wikipedia, among other sources, documents well the difference between the two terms. Just a pet peeve of mine, sorry.

Kristin brings the role of G(a)linda to life, it would be really sad for them not to choose her just based on her age. Her appearence, voice and acting is perfect for the role. Who cares how old she is? Certainly not Wicked fans, if she suits the part, age should have nothing to do with it. she played a 5-year old (when she was 30) in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" and won a Tony Award for it. Besides, if they really do think she looks too old, they can just pile on the makeup, like everyone does in hollywood these days... I just think that they shouldn't just dismiss her because of her age, if they didn't like her acting or singing, that's a better reason, but age? That's just not a good enough reason, Kristin Chenoweth will always be the original G(a)linda, Just PLEASE don't let her be replaced by someone who's much less talented and was only hired because they're 20 years old, blonde and can kind-of sing.

While I do love Kristens voice and acting, I have seen vieos of her as Glindam and she didn't exactly look school age in those. but that could be because I have seen them so often I look very closely for things that most don't notice their first time. however, I do believe that Kristen will look significantly older in ten years, and while she may still be beautiful then, she won't look the part for Glinda. chances are whoever is going to be in the movie hasn't even been in Wicked yet. I really hope they stick to the script instead of taking songs out like they did with RENT. and maybe they could bring back the Wonderful Waltz.

If they're so intent on not putting Kristin in the movie, than I'm going be just as intent on not seeing it. Just my opinion. And if it's the age thing, can't they just make the movie now and hold off on the release?

who cares if they don't cast Kristin as Glinda, she is wonderful in the show, but there are many other talented actresses who are just as capable, if not more capable than k.c. to pull off this role. So lets not even make who is going to play glinda an issue, because the producers and universal are being very nice and giving us a movie. The producers have yet to let anyone down with the casting of all the wicked casts, so can we just trust them on this? I know that I can and I will! And I hope that you can to!
