Congratulations!!

I have one course to finish myself after going through the graduation ceremonies at U of U, but because I have moved far away I haven't been able to find a course. I took a online course and I got a A in the class. The home study department lost my course work somehow and I had to take the class again, but this time I only got a Ct and they wouldn't accept that grade. I want to graduate so bad my heart aches I spent all that money and they wouldn't give me a degree. Some day I want to do it! I am so happy for you.

Wow, what an inspiration ! I'm 41 yrs old and desire to go back to school to get into nursing. Last time I was in school was 12 yrs ago. I really can relate to this ladies experience with finishing her Bachelors degree ! I have a goal, to be enrolled in school again fall semester of 09 !

Congratulations to Hermine Horman !

Absolutely uplifting story. Really good to see someone achieve their goals in life. And a very nice lady. From one college grad to another...congratulations, Hermine.

Hermine is one of the funniest ladies I have ever met, and has such determination! She absolutely cracks us up in RS every week, and I am glad to know her. Congratulations!!

Evan- I am a great grandma now, but on my 47th birthday I paid my matriculation fee, took home the catalog to decide what I wanted to do- stay in my field- I was a LPN at the time, or change. I decided to stay with what I knew. There was a long protracted divorce that had been fermenting for years, there was surgery for a brain tumor, and there was graduation. I figured those years would go by whether I worked toward that degree or not. They did, but I had my degree when they were over. Do it.

I am sure your kids were not really more educated than she was. In her 82 years of writing and publishing I she surely learned as much as they did in college. However now she has a paper to prove it!
