Tanner Wood is actually the fastest player on the team and plays the wingback position, not offensive line. The Pine View offensive line includes center Kevin Moss (6'4" 300 lbs. 315 bench, 500 squat), guards Adam Cass (6'4" 300 lbs. 300 bench,500 squat)and Keaton Bale (6'0" 265 lbs. 340 bench, 450 squat)tackles Justin Lytle (6'2 260 lbs. 315 bench, 425 squat)and KJ Boyer (6'2" 230 lbs. 285 bench, 435 squat). Jorden Gary starts on defense. He is the strongest on the team with a 405 bench press and a 525 squat.

The Championship score was 50-7, not 38-0.
Who Cares! | 11:06 a.m. Aug. 14, 2008
And still the combined scores in your champinship games is a combined 357-6. Not in your favor, how's that for some stats.

This one time at Band Camp I squated 2,000lbs, and benched 800lbs.

they lost to timpview 55-7

Funny the OL weight thing is being thrown around.

Last year, the St. George fans kept citing that as a reason why they would dominate Timpview..

doesn't always work that way.
PV fan | 1:06 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
At least we make it to the championship games. Most schools don't even know what that feels like. It is very disappointing that the result is not how we would like it, but we have an awesome group of kids that fight for that chance every single year. Maybe this is the year, who knows.
Who cares | 1:51 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
this is a new year. P.V. was outcoached, outplayed, etc... against Timpview. However, P.V. was overlooked last year and dominated their opponents other than Bountiful and Timpview. They have proven their level of competiveness. They won't take state this year, but they will be tough.
WOW! | 2:23 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
I can't believe that someone had to post up detail information on the offensive line how PATHETIC!!!!
What's the Problem? | 3:42 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
I think it's great that some "hogs" got some pub, even if it's just on a blog. Hogs do the hard work and most times nobody knows or cares. Ask any real coach what the value of a good O-line is. If those lift numbers are correct, that's a real accomplishment for that group of kids. People put up stats for qbs, rbs, and wos all the time, so I don't get why someone would get his tidy whities in bunch over it; most likely a guy who never got under a squat rack, would be my guess.
RE:Pine View Insider | 4:01 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
Ok, I live in St George, and that was a dumb thing to do. Pine View is a good team but they were no match for Timpview last year. The amount you can lift has nouthing to do with fier. If your scared of someone "Timpview" it won't matter how strong you are. I would love to see Pine View do big things this year and get back to the championship game.If you do you can't let someone come out and punch you in mouth and not punch back. Good luck PV.
You must | 4:51 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
realize that all of the "smack" being run on these blogs is from fans. Fans always say the silliest things about their team when they are bragging about them. No decent player should be writing in these blogs and should also not even read them either. The players will just play and fans will try and BS each other. So I guess the fans can keep beating each other up with whatever they want to say if it makes them feel better.
Oh yeah! | 5:19 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
Well my dad's tougher than yours. His truck is faster and if!!! you make it to a championship game you'll still get blown out.
pine view insider | 6:55 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
Wow! I can't believe the negative reactions to the simple posting of accurate names, heights, weights and lifts, of players who rarely get recognized, because they don't play a glory position. The article contained erroneous and incomplete information. My comments were only meant to be informative. I made no editorial comments on the skills of the line or any boasts of what they may accomplish.
Prediction | 9:05 p.m. Aug. 14, 2008
PV goes 7 and 2.

They lose to Dominguez and Cottonwood.

They crush the rest of the schedule.

They go deep into the playoffs only to get beat again.
Should Do Better | 8:24 a.m. Aug. 15, 2008
"Prediction" might be right. PV O-line is supposed to be bigger and stronger and the Ence kid won't fall apart against a super tough opponent. But, last year against Timpview, its D-line fell apart, so the real question is whether the D-line is any better. Also, heard PV lost one of its best players, Robert Evans, for the season. My prediction would be if they lose to a good team in a big game, they at least won't get blown out this year. After Cottonwood it will be obvious if they're any good or not.
what !! | 5:59 p.m. Aug. 15, 2008
what happend to evans
re: what | 9:53 p.m. Aug. 15, 2008
I understand that Robert Evans injured his knee in practice. Reportedly he will need surgery and is out for the season. I also saw Pine View scrimmage last night and their D-line does look much better than last years. This years D-line is much much quicker than last years, and bigger. Their O-line looked solid. Ence ran the ball well, but fumbled a couple of times. The big surprise for me was their running back,Villiami Hafoka, who apparently played nose guard last year. This kid was amazing. He is very quick and can cut on a dime. They will definitely miss Evans, but they run the ball very well out of the spread with Ence and Hafoka, think West Virginia. They will compete.
to re:what | 10:52 a.m. Aug. 16, 2008
Evans tore his ACL. Freak accident in practice the day before the scrimmage. D-Line is NOT bigger than last years. Ence fumbled ONCE, not a couple of times. Hafoka is great if he will pick up his blocks. Overall PV is very solid we will soon see if they have the same team chemistry that they had last year.
dixie weight room observer | 12:12 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
it is nothing to brag about when your 300 lb lineman are squating around 450 lbs when dixies safety(chunner nyberg)linebacker(max sherwin) cornerback (chase harmon) all squat around 420 lbs.. i am not ripping on pine view but if you are going to brag about something then make it something to brag about.
Re:dixie weight room observer | 2:04 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
Okay, heres something to brag about. Eleven straight victories. Thats right Pine View has beaten Dixie in football eleven straight times. In regards to a 450 pound squat for a 300 pound lineman, we don't have any 300 pound lineman that squat under 500. We do however have a noseguard who weighs 215 pounds, squats 525 and benches 340. Oh yeah and he runs a 4.54 forty.
DHHS owns PV | 5:03 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
thats funny you mention that player that is 215 squats 525 and benches 340 because last year those stats were about the same and he didnt even start jv. just goes to show that stats dont mean as much as you think they do! desert hills has a running back that weighs 195 and squats 465.
11 straight! | 5:21 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
It doesn't matter how much they squat, bench, dead lift or what their stats are. The fact is, Dixie probably won't be beating PV this year or any time soon.
pine view | 6:32 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
according to pine views website everyone rons a.5 forty.
I believe this | 7:01 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
blog is for the comments regarding the article which is about PV football. The Desert Hills and Dixie kids need to find their own blog to talk smack in. And why we are the subject of talking smack, its a good thing DHHS is not playing PV this season. The score would be at least 72-0 if not more.
to "11 straight" | 8:45 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
I am a Dixie fan and usually cheer for Pine View when they play everyone, except for Dixie. However, I just have to say... your time will come when you will start losing to Dixie now and then! I remember 10 years ago when Dixie used to be Pine View all the time! Need I remind PV fans that it was also only 10 years ago that Dixie won the state title in football! Look it up! When was the last state title that PV won (in football)?? I know they have played for three (titles) in the past 4-5 years and have come away with nothing more than their big mouths!
field is what matters | 11:15 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
Lifting is great and gets you stronger but if you can't block or move quick enough all that strength doesen't do as much. But it is intimidating, I still think timpview will own pineview again though.
O-Line is overrated | 11:18 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
Every year you hear how big Pine View's offensive line is. But lets be honest strength can only take you so far. It doesn't matter how big you are, its how much heart you have in you. Last year the offensive line got worked by Timpview in every area. All you saw was a offensive line who had no clue how to block a player that is faster and smarter than your Hogs up front. If a player has heart you would see them give it all they got and leave it all on the field. All I saw was a team that quit after being down 14-0. Ya it is great to be big but remember the bigger you are the slower you get. Putting weight totals of your line in newspaper articles and every interview you do is beyond a joke. Lets see how you do against Timpview this year.

Last i checked football is played on a field not in a weightroom.
PV's Last Season | 4:43 p.m. Aug. 17, 2008
In 5 years desert hills will dominate Pine View just as Pine View has dominated everyone for the last decade. We will see how many of these PV fans have their kids at Pine View and how many are doing all they can to get their kids into Desert Hills.
My squat is HUGE | 5:41 p.m. Aug. 17, 2008
and I squat every time I drop something on the ground, that way i can pick it up. ;-)
Squats are Huge | 9:01 p.m. Aug. 17, 2008
Hey that is awesome that you can squat each time you need to pick something up! You know I just noticed I have a nice squat also! Great job "My squat is HUGE" i think we can be in this together come on ST. George let's squat!
Squat | 8:58 a.m. Aug. 18, 2008
I can squat a 1,000lbs. It's not something I like to throw around, but since no one asked I thought I would tell you.
Main Point | 9:07 a.m. Aug. 18, 2008
The real issue isn't how much we ARE squating it's how much AREN'T we squating.

When someone asks me if I feel the weight of the football team on my shoulders I tell them I have only felt that once. And that was when I was the base of an upside down pyramid.
This is ridiculous | 10:47 a.m. Aug. 18, 2008
The reason "pine view insider" put the stats of the Offensive Line (which are all correct) is because the article incorrectly cited Pine View's wingback as a starting lineman. I mean come on, people, grow up. Last time I checked, correcting fallacies in a newspaper article was not considered bragging.
Dominguez don | 12:34 a.m. Aug. 19, 2008
anyone have video on pineview?
