As a former resident of the commercially improvished Rose Park area of Salt Lake City and now a resident of the commercially impoverished Clearfield City area in Davis County, I wish Salt Lake City some luck as I haven't particularly been too impressed with Davis County community and economic development over the past decade as it still appears that many Davis County residents seem to need to commute outside of Davis County even though finally changes are occurring just as Mr. Sommerkorn is leaving. I understand that change like in Sandy City takes a decade of planning but where was Mr. Sommerkorn the previous twenty years? Hopefully he was battling individual Davis County cities to promote community and economic development. Anyway, it appears that individual Davis County cities can begin to take care of themselves as Clearfield, Syracuse, and West Point are doing with their 1,000 acre technology park as Mr. Sommerkorn will no longer be around to oversee Count-wide development here in Davis County. Now maybe the Rose Park area can see some decent commercial services in the next decade finally.
