I agree, the photo shown of the dog isnt appropriate. I was actually far behind the firetruck/ambulance racing to that call. so sad. my thoughts and prayers are with the injured woman.

Are we talking about a dog here? Nevermind that the dog was still alive when the picture was taken, and that everyone involved was acting nobly--trying to save the dog!
Ironically, I thought Mr. Allred (photographer) must be a real animal-lover to immortalize such a moment.
I guess my glass is half-full.
Ciao!

Hey Sally Linford
Yes, we are talking about a dog. Apparently you aren't an animal lover, and you will never understand how an animal becomes part of a family. That animal was part of their family. Just imagine someone in your family being exploited on a newspaper when it was a life or death situation. That "dog" stayed with the woman until she was rescued. That's loyalty.
I agree that the rescue workers were acting nobly, but I don't agree that the photographer had to make a "polaroid moment" out of something tragic for that family. I wouldn't want any of my family's(animal or human) photo put on the front page of the newspaper for all the world to see. They obviously will be feeling very sad about this, and now they have a picture of it, thanks to a photographer that doesn't have any class. Have some respect for others' feelings!!!

I don't think that picture needed to be published. For such a loved dog, if I were the owner, I wouldn't want my dead animal shown in the paper.
You people put any picture in the paper for sensationalism don't you?
The story would have been fine without exploiting a death.
