This is the greatest story in the world. Soccer is the best sport ever. I can't get enough of RSL.

RSL 5-6-4 and in 2nd place? How bad is a sport that has a team with more losses than wins and still in second place? Well golly gee wizz lets hope for another 0-0 tie. I hope the sound system works well for Tim Mcgraw at that new stadium, thats all its going to be used for a a couple of years....

Go Real! They have put themselves in the best situation that the franchise has seen yet. I hope they continue to improve.

RSL will lose every game the rest of the season. Be happy being in second place with a losing record for now, soon you'll be in last place.

To cement our second place position in the league, all we need do is finish the season with a string of scoreless ties! Go RSL!!!!!!!!

Don't feed the trolls, people.

I beleive the Arizona Diamondbacks are first in their division with a .500 record.
Or what about teams in the NFC conference of the NFL making the playoffs! In EVERY sport there are teams that don't have great records but still make playoffs. So put that idea in you pipe and smoke it!

Utefan are posting from personal experience? Oh yeah, the same can be said for Utah football :)
Go RSL | 10:32 a.m. July 2, 2008
Keep the faith. Doubt not Fear not.

Wait didn't the Utah Blaze HOST a playoff game with a record of 6 win and 10 losses. Wow now thats bad. But its entertainment so who cares.
TO: Soccer is yawn: | 10:57 a.m. July 2, 2008
Let's see, the Utah Blaze started off 0-9 and then finished 5-10 or something like that and made the playoffs and lost in their first game. I'm guessing you are a Blaze fan and see nothing wrong with that right? Plus the papers thought it was the greatest thing to write about, but RSL is having a pretty decent season and nothing good to say, even when they win. I get it if you don't like soccer, move on. You don't see RSL fans bashing the Jazz for NEVER being able to win the big ones or RSL fans bashing the Blaze on boards. Plus, let me guess, you're still bitter because "Jordan pushed off" riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Shut up, you are giving real Ute fans a bad name.
Objective viewpoint | 1:37 p.m. July 2, 2008
In high school I played football, basketball & baseball. Years later my children started to play some soccer and I was asked by some friends to play in a men's soccer league. The game was athletically & mentally demanding. Since then, I often watch soccer on TV and have coached some youth soccer; consequently, I now enjoy both the beauty of the simple objectives of the game of soccer, as well as, the complexity of the technique and tactics. I like NBA playoffs, World Series, NFL playoffs, Campions League, PDL, Euro-Cup, World Cup and RSL. I think people who critize soccer, usually are simply ignorant about the great game of soccer.

In the article it states we lead the league with 203 shots. Of those 203 shots, 84 were on goal. We are 4th in the league for shots on goal. At any rate, we are much better than previous years. Now, we just need to finish and put those shots in the back of the net.
Go Real!
Go Real!

Atleast Ute fan and Cougar fan can agree that soccer is lame
Re: Objective Viewpoint | 2:30 p.m. July 2, 2008
I like what you point out there, that people need to at least try it to really be able to judge it.
People that havent given soccer the chance it deserves yet still criticize it (cough utefan cough) are like a 7 year old. "I hate salad. It is so gross. Who would like salad. Green is gross. etc"
Then, one day when the child actually has the courage to try it they go "hey, this is not that bad actually. I actually kind of like salad."
People, grow up and at least give it a try please.
If you still hate it, at least realize (as did objective viewpoint) how challenging the game actually is

Utefan stop posting here, you are probably some nerdy kid with no life and bashing soccer because they never picked you to play at recess.
SA Meeting Minutes | 7:47 p.m. July 2, 2008
Recently heard at the Soccer Anonymous meeting: "Hello, my name is Objective Viewpoint, and I play and watch soccer. Due to peer pressure, I became hooked on the simple complexities of the game. I like Real Salt Lake and long walks on the beach."
Congratualtions. The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Dear UteFan... | 7:57 p.m. July 2, 2008
What a pathetic person you must be. I realize you only write these things to mask your own insecurites about how you have not made anything out of your life. Don't let it get you down. Stay possitive. Think happy thoughts. Smile more often. You fill a very important need in society. Oh, and by the way, can you get me some ketchup with my fries?
Go Real!

I am sorry guys. I am just a sad person because my utes team is so bad that I have a need to bash soccer and RSL. Please help me to have the right vision of the world greatest sport. I am trying hard to like soccer and I want my taxes to go to the new stadium. GO RSL. Please forgive me.
Sincerely
Utefan
Sincerely

I have to agree with Utefan (like I did before) that I also love soccer. It's just hard to admit that soccer is the world greatest sport. I am scared that all my friends will leave me if I confess that I love soccer. Please also forgive me. I also want my taxes to go to the stadium. Do you guys know if they will take my taxes since I live in Utah County? Go RSL
Utefan2 | 6:10 a.m. July 3, 2008
You know why I'm better than RSL? Because not only is my stadium a taxpayer subsidy. . . my WHOLE TEAM is a taxpayer subsidy.
Re: SA Meeting Minutes | 10:01 a.m. July 3, 2008
They have Soccer Anonymous meetings? Where? Sign me up! I'm so addicted to the sport, I'd love to meet other soccer addicts and sit in a circle discussing about how much I'm addicted to soccer. Throw in some nachos and a big screen tv showing tonight's game and I'm definitley there! Yes, I have a problem... and I LOVE it!
Go RSL! Take first place!!!
P.S. The best part about reading the DesNews articles on RSL is all of the comments left by the soccer haters. The silliness of the things they say reminds me of my 18 month old son. Some of the things he says are just wack! Anyway, I love all the angst out there toward RSL. It makes me smile to know that I'm able to appreciate something so great that others are too ignorant to enjoy.

I think we were more eratic before Olave became a regular starter. Since then we have been much more solid in the last few minutes (minus Beltran's own goal). Mantilla was terrible in the back and probably gave away 5 of those goals in the last 15 minutes, Joy also contributed a few)
As far as scoring. We need one more scoring midfielder to replace Williams who may never score another goal. Duechars will unleash a bunch of goals its only a matter of time (and a matter of better service into him).
We are looking good overall. Go RSL!
