As far as I'm concerned BYU took the Duel when they swept Men's Basketball and Football. Let's face it BYU's mens athletics is far above Utah's right now, and Utah's womens athletics are far above BYU's.

It was a good thought and hopefully it pays off in the future

FAR above? You barely beat the Utes in the huntsman center, and have won the last two years football games on last second plays, that isnt very far my friend, not very far at all.

The duel trophy is a joke - it doesn't even take into consideration track and field events - those events are really the foundation of amatuer athletics and we just ignore them? Whats up with that? Each school has participants in track and field so why don't those events count? politics!!!!

Utah in the last two years has lost a combined six straight games in Football and Basketball. BYU Football only won on a laat second play once, Utah failed to convert their last second play most recently, right after getting owned on BYU's final drive of the game.

Six in a row is quite a margin. I say it's at least head and shoulders above Yewtville
Go Cougs! | 4:59 p.m. May 18, 2008
I am a big BYU fan so this is pretty cool. However, I do know that things go back and forth and and Utah will have their Day too.

For now though, Life is good as a COUG!!!! :)
Can't wait for the next football season!
Nondelightful Duel | 7:54 a.m. May 19, 2008
Good job Cougar baseball. As far as the Deseret Duel goes it would be much better for school presidents to take 10 paces turn and shoot.

The duel gives as much weight to gymnastics as to baseball. That fact alone makes me not care about the duel.
