Great game last night! Besides controlling the puck well and reducing Fresno's scoring chances, the Grizzlies played with a lot of grit and heart. A group of us watched the game at the E-Center and sharing the victory made it that much sweeter. Thanks to the Grizzlies players and the Grizzlies organization for making the playoffs so exciting!

I agree with Robert G, the Grizzlies have been awesome this season and played with all their hearts, they have now made ECHL history, and still they are treated as if they aren't worthy of more recognition??
Well, recognition or not, we love the way you played guys! Keep up the momentum!!!

Great game I was also watching the game with the group of fans at the E-Center. I have watched all 3 away games there and it has been such a fun experience. It's great to get to meet other fans and you get such a great feeling in the room when the team is doing well and everyone is having a great time. I am so proud of the team and so excited for the next round. Can't wait for the next game and keep up the great work Grizzlies. I just hope that the media will do better the second round of playoffs with stories and maybe post a highlight on the news after the games once in a while. Lets get some more people aware of what this great team is doing on and off the ice.

Right on! Can't wait to see them play in the second round. I'll be there.

I agree. Why can't the Grizzlies get more press? Is it because they aren't affiliated with Larry Miller?
The Grizzlies are doing awesome this season! Great job Olivier for passing the puck to Keith Johnson and giving him the final goal. What great class!

Thats what I just came to say RobertG...how come the Grizzlies going to the second round for the first time since 96 gets stuck at the back of the paper, but girls prep softball is page one. The Grizzlies average attandance this year was 3,834 over 36 home games and the playoffs are at 3,623 in 3 games - How many people go to high school girls softball games?

I guarantee that if Larry H. Miller owned the Grizz, they would get much more press! Don't get me wrong, I support the Jazz, too. But it just seems strange that Mr. Miller's two teams (the Jazz and the Bees) get press, while the Grizz and Real Salt Lake are lucky to get mentioned.

The papers and T.V. are afraid of upsetting LHM so they do not get denied access to the elite Jazz players in their THUG and POSSE league.

Lawson, when he is on his game was one of the top three goalies in the nation in the NCAA. Finally he's getting the shot he deserves and is proving he truely is pro-talent. Hey Nate-the-Great, keep up the good work!

I've heard the Jazz mentioned from the church pulpit (literally), so I really think that there's room for the Grizzlies, too. We have to face the fact, however, that hockey is the least popular of the Big Four sports in the U.S. Frankly, I don't think that's the worst thing. Not everything that's popular is high quality, as evidence by the plethora of reality shows.
Most people would be surprised to learn that NHL fans are the most educated and affluent of the Big Four fans. I wish more people knew what a great sport hockey is and how great so many players are off the ice!

I disagree with one item above: Real Salt Lake gets almost as much attention as the Jazz or the major college teams, judging from the front-page placement of stories. However, I think the reasoning is the same: Dave Checketts can do no wrong here, and there is a lot of local political support behind the soccer team.
The Grizzlies and the Bees seem to be in the same spot. There's usually a big spread on opening day in both newspapers, and then they're ignored for the rest of the year. Perhaps the D-News and Trib think that covering the Grizzlies/Bees more makes SLC more of a minor league city? I would LOVE to hear from D-News and/or Trib sportswriters and editors (not to mention the local TV stations) as to why the two minor league teams don't get the visibility that, say, high school soccer does.

When was the last time anyone saw a picture of any Grizzlies game in the paper? The last one I even remember was when Alfie Michaud played, 2-3 years ago? Oh, but I've seen Morris Almond's pic plenty of times. Look at his 'big league' stats? Maybe the Grizz need a plane the has a banner with the Grizz logo on it. (Have you seen the Bee's plane flying around?) WAY TO GO GRIZZLIES and Linda Hamilton for doing a great job!

It is just jelousy or championship envy. Remember the only championship won in the Delta Center/Energy Solutions Arena wasn't won by the Jazz. The Grizzlies defeated the Orlando Solar Bears to win the IHL championhip before 19K+ fans. That gives them one more than the Jazz.
