My biggest problem with the skybridge right now is that the current design for it is hideous. When it was first proposed as part of the project, it was a beautiful, graceful, open-air arch with decorative elements. Now it's a rectangular, enclosed glass box that looks like it belongs in an airport. Talk about bait-and-switch! They had the chance to make an icon--instead they gave us ridiculously dull.

I'm with JK. This whole thing has been bait and switch. Now don't get me wrong, I'm going to shop there, but when this whole thing started it was going to be a beautiful outdoor shopping experience with the creek running through it. Now it appears to be just another mall.

I would rather use the skybridge than go down stairs out across the street and back up the stairs to get to a store. Put in the Skybridge, it makes a lot of sense!

Something else that will topple when the quake hits.

I don't worry about the City Creek skybridge - I just worry it could open up the floodgates so EVERYONE will start putting them in and kill the pedestrian traffic on the street.

It is my understanding the pedestrians are usually killed from traffic on the street. Now they are away from traffic. Good point Futureboy!!

I love skybridges when I'm shopping. They keep me out of the weather, out of traffic, and give me farther views of other places to go.

The skybridge will serve as a homeless shelter during the day, which will be full of drunks, prostitutes and drug dealers, when the homeless shelter over by the Gateway gives them the boot at 7 in the morning.
