Dixie State to induct new members into hall of fame
Dixie State College will induct three new members into its hall of fame on Saturday as part of the Rebels' homecoming festivities.
Writer and co-founder of St. George Magazine, Lyman Hafen; the late Gordon D. Jennings, who developed Dixie's dental hygiene program; and E. Durant McArthur, a researcher for the U.S. Forest Service; will be named as distinguished alumni and recognized for their service in the St. George community.
Dixie's Hall of Fame was introduced in 1998 and began with 18 charter members. Photos and accompanying plaques of this year's inductees will join the past 72 inductees on the Wall of Fame located in the Avenna Center on campus.
A ceremony will be held in their honor in conjunction with the Founder's Day assembly Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the St. George Tabernacle. Wendy Leonard
