FrontRunner line to be delayed
WEST VALLEY CITY (AP) The opening date for the FrontRunner train line from Utah County to Salt Lake City might be pushed back six months because of the struggling economy.
Utah Transit Authority officials plan to push back the southern commuter line's debut date from mid-2012 to early 2013 if the economy doesn't improve.
The planned delay comes as UTA has had to drop projected tax revenue growth for 2009 from 4.5 percent to 1.5 percent.
Still, officials say they can push up the opening date for a light-rail line going to the Salt Lake City airport to 2013 and can open the line headed to Draper two years early, in 2012.
