Police release name of man killed in crash
PROVO Police on Wednesday released the name of a Provo motorcyclist who was killed when he was struck by a car at an intersection Tuesday afternoon.
Joshua Benson, 23, was riding a motorcycle west on 800 North near 300 West, said Provo Police Capt. Cliff Argyle. A car was traveling the opposite direction, and the driver started to make a left turn at the intersection. The driver was unable to stop the car, and Benson struck the vehicle. The driver of the car said he did not see the motorcycle, Argyle said.
Benson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, Argyle said. He suffered serious head injuries and was later pronounced dead at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
