3 Ogden police officers, bank employee injured in brawl
Ogden police said the incident began about 9 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. Bank at 2590 Washington Blvd., when Sheridan Dellinger, 33, walked in and tried to access a safety deposit box there.
"He didn't have any identification, so he was denied access," Ogden Police Lt. Marcy Korgenski said Wednesday. "He asked them for money from his account. He had no money in the account so he couldn't receive any funds."
A few hours later, he came back and tried to get into the safety deposit box again.
"He said God had left the safety deposit box for him," Korgenski said. "He said he was Satan and started acting strange, saying, 'Give me my ... money' and then he hit the bank manager and knocked him to the floor."
The bank tellers and a customer convinced Dellinger to sit down, and police soon showed up. As an officer tried to place him under arrest, Korgenski said Dellinger punched the officer in the face. Another officer used pepper spray on him and they began to wrestle to get Dellinger under arrest.
"They eventually took Dellinger into custody, but three officers were injured in the scuffle," said Korgenski. "One officer was punched in the face. They're fairly serious injuries to his face. Another officer received a concussion and another officer got bruises and contusions."
