The LDS Church public-affairs office provides information on church status, growth and history in the five areas that were announced Saturday as future locations for Mormon temples.

The first Italian baptism was in 1850, and missionary work began in Argentina in 1925. The Calgary temple will be Alberta's third and Canada's eighth.
