Capistrano has the yearly return of its famous swallows. Salt Lake City, however, surpasses that with the twice-yearly return of general conference protesters. After waiting for six months, there is nothing more satisfying than heading over to the Conference Center for some serious protester watching.

Even beginning watchers have no trouble distinguishing conferencegoers from protesters. The Common Mormon (plethora meetingia familias), while diverse, flock together in long, snaking lines. Don't waste time looking for the rarer subspecies of homus teacherus; conference never occurs at the end of the month.
