FedEx Cup winner Vijay Singh to miss two months with arm injury
Vijay Singh, who won the U.S. PGA Tour's $10 million playoff, will be sidelined for at least two months with tendinitis in his left forearm.
Singh, the world's third-ranked golfer, will sit out tournaments in Malaysia and China after being told by doctors to rest so he could be ready for next season.
"As disappointing as it will be to miss the tournaments, it is important that I follow my doctor's instructions and do what is best for my long-term health," the Fijian said in a statement on the Asian Tour's Web site.
Singh captured the U.S. Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs two days ago. After winning the first two of the four postseason tournaments, he had to just finish at last weekend's Tour Championship to claim the biggest prize in golf.
Singh was the leading money winner on the U.S. Tour this season, bringing in more than $6.6 million.
