'Big Legacy Award' to be given to lawyer
Also to be honored at the event are Irene Sweeney and the George S. & Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation.
Doctorman, a volunteer for many nonprofit organizations, will be recognized as a visionary who believes in helping Utah's youths reach their potential with the help of caring mentors. He served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters board for a decade, and as chairman from 1980 to 1983 and again from 1986 to 1987. He also served on the national board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
His efforts to find funding and re-establish the Utah board helped ensure the program's survival in during challenging times. He had the vision to see the value of Big Brothers Big Sisters and made sure the organization would not only survive but would thrive.
The Utah program serves 1,627 youth with 1,600 volunteers and 34 staff members.
