2 arrested in kidnapping, assault
Salt Lake police arrested two people over the weekend for allegedly kidnapping the former girlfriend of one of the suspects and duct-taping her inside his apartment.
Samuel Marlin King and Jacqueline Anita Juarez were arrested Friday for investigation of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
King and the victim lived together for about six months before she moved out a couple of weeks ago, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report.
On Friday, King and Juarez spotted King's former girlfriend at Pioneer Park and forced her to go back to King's apartment, jail records state. Once there, the victim was tied up with duct tape and threatened with a knife, according to the jail report.
The woman was somehow able to break free three to four hours later, escape and call police. Salt Lake police did not have any additional details on the case Monday.
