High school soccer: Rowland Hall player released from hospital after injury
A Rowland Hall player who was injured during a girls soccer match on Monday afternoon was released from the hospital on Tuesday after X-rays revealed no fractures or other spinal injuries.
Carson Lyness, a freshman defender for the Winged Lions, was injured in a collision with a player from St. Joseph during the second half of a 7-0 loss to the Jayhawks. Lyness was taken from Sunnyside Park by ambulance shortly after the collision. She suffered strained ligaments, a less serious injury than originally feared. Lyness will likely be sidelined for the remainder of the season while she recovers from the injury.
