Combine ingredients and blend with a large spoon, being careful not to overmix. Add to the hot waffle iron, and when done, you will have a delicious, light and fluffy waffle. Heloise
Dear Heloise: I cook for my wife and myself. I often like to add small amounts of chicken or beef broth to soups or something I am cooking. When I open a container of broth and use only a little, I pour the remainder in ice-cube trays, freeze it and then put the frozen cubes into plastic bags or containers. Then, when needed, I just drop in a few cubes. Works fine for me. Edgar Burks, Springfield, Mo.
So, I washed out an empty, plastic half-gallon milk jug and allowed it to dry thoroughly. Then I poured the dry detergent from its cardboard box through a funnel into the jug. I cut the product name off the box and taped it to the jug on two sides.
Now I have a container with a handle for my dry dishwasher detergent. Keep the lid on the jug so that the detergent doesn't form clumps from the humidity in the air.
Dear Heloise: I find that those plastic bowls with lids that you get when you purchase a salad are definitely worth keeping. I give them a good washing and place lots of cut-up fresh veggies and fruits in them.
When you are hungry for a healthy and delicious snack, just reach into the bowl, and there are some fresh picks for your five-a-day, all cut and ready to eat.
Dear Heloise: A coffee filter can serve as a cover on a bowl of food as you are heating the food up in the microwave. Works great when you do not have the correct-size lid. A Reader, via e-mail
