LOGAN (AP) — The Bear River Health Department has confirmed a case of West Nile virus.

A spokeswoman with the health department says it's the first human case in Cache County this summer, although the virus has been detected in several mosquito pools in both Cache and Box Elder counties.

The health department says the Providence man is between the ages of 40 and 64. He was diagnosed this week and is being treated for the virus in Logan.
