WEST VALLEY CITY — The Utah Grizzlies have acquired forward Brandon Scero from the Mississippi Sea Wolves in exchange for forward Ryan Cruthers in a trade this week.

After four years of college hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Scero joined Mississippi late in the regular season last year tallying four goals and three assists for seven points in nine games.

At Omaha, the Canton, Mich. native had 55 goals and 59 assists for 114 points in 147 games. Prior to college, Scero played two seasons with the U.S. National Under 18-team.

The Grizzlies open the 2008-2009 season on Oct. 18 at Idaho.
