LEHI — A violent tantrum through his mother's house landed a 19-year-old Lehi man in jail for investigation of criminal mischief and terroristic threats.

A hole completely punched through a wall, a hole through a bedroom door, a smashed up big-screen television, a bashed up kitchen island and a broken glass door to the kitchen were what police found when they arrived at the Lehi home Friday morning, according to a 4th District Court affidavit of probable cause.

Police said the man became angry at his mother and then went through the house, causing more than $1,500 in damage. Just has he was leaving the home and the trail of destruction, the woman told police that her son threatened to come back, kill her dogs and set her house on fire. Before getting into his car to leave, the man grabbed a gas can and put it in his car, the document said.

A brief time later, the man called police from Heber City and offered to turn himself in.
