The Salt Lake Bees reduced their magic number for clinching the Pacific Northern Division down to three with a 5-2 win over the Portland Beavers on Monday night. The game was tied 2-2 in the sixth inning when Kendry Morales led off with a double. Two outs later, Bobby Wilson ripped a double into the left center field gap to bring home Morales and he scored on a single to right by Adam Pavkovich.

Anthony Ortega (4-0) went seven innings for the win, as he allowed just two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts. Darren O'Day got his sixth save. Freddy Sandoval had three hits, including two doubles, and one run batted in. With the two doubles, Sandoval now has forty-four two base hits this season, which is a new franchise record. Brandon Wood also had three hits, including a leadoff home run in the fourth inning, his 31st of the season.
