BEIJING — Andrei Kirilenko's value as an all-around front man for the Russian men's basketball team is confirmed by the five-game tournament statistics after the Beijing Olympics preliminary pool play.

The do-everything Kirilenko was second in his team in scoring, averaging 15.8 points a game, behind the 17.6 of Russia guard J.R. Holden, an American holding dual citizenship.

He was among the top 10 overall in many of the major per-game categories, including rebounds (eighth, 6.4), assists (eighth, 3.4), drawing fouls (third, 6.6), blocked shots (second, 1.2), and steals (first, 1.6).

Of note, Kirilenko was also fourth in turnovers committed at 3.4 a game.
