Theater openings will have patrons laughing, singing
"Anything Goes," Murray Arts in the Park, Thursday through Aug. 19, Murray Park Amphitheater.
This Cole Porter musical comedy is as classic as you get. Set aboard an ocean liner in the '30s, there are gangsters, tycoons, debutantes, an heiress and a nightclub singer. Porter's score includes favorites such as "I Get a Kick Out of You," "You're the Top" and "It's De-Lovely." Murray's production stars Russell Guymon, Morgan Mallory, Jann Lowder, Jon Scott and Stephanie Hamilton.

The second in a three-week series of old-time radio programs. Each week includes new and different episodes of some of the classics of American radio from the '40s and '50s. The shows star Elizabeth Abbott, Clinton Coltrin, Mike Hardy and Bijan Hosseini.

A show that needs no introduction, "Singin' in the Rain," has been called the greatest musical of all time. With popular songs such as "Good Mornin'," "You Are My Lucky Star," and the title song, you'll love the tap dancing, comedy and romance. This production stars Allen McCracken as Don Lockwood, Britany Dean as Kathy Seldon, Leah Cook is Lina Lamont and Trevor Dean is the sidekick, Cosmo Brown.
Monday is "family night" — all children's tickets are half-price; Friday is "date night" — all couples get in for $20; Wednesday is "dress-up night" — patrons are encouraged to dress up in their best '20s garb for half-off.
