Campers build friendship while enjoying outdoors

No words were needed to see how much fun Lauren Russell was having. The huge grin across her face said it all.

She was one of the many special needs women from around the Salt Lake Valley, ranging from late teens to mid-60s, who experienced girls camp for the first time.

"We wanted them to have an outdoor experience," said JoAn Lake, the special needs Young Women president for the Brighton Utah Stake. "This is what camp is, to have special needs girls and women all being able to congregate in an outdoor setting and enjoy this experience."
