Hogle Zoo will offer free admission to members of the military and their families today for Salute Our Military Day.

Free flags will also be given out to the first 500 children in the zoo, and a banner donated by Hill Air Force Base will thank the troops.

Events celebrating the military will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. First, a bald eagle will be displayed on the Main Plaza. A 10 a.m. flag-raising ceremony will be followed by a drill performance. During lunchtime, the Northridge High School marching band will play.

The zoo is at the mouth of Emigration Canyon in Salt Lake City.
