Man charged in assault with a tennis racquet
The man was playing tennis at the Sports Mall, 5445 S. 900 East, on June 23 when he bumped into another player as they were switching sides of the court, according to charges filed Wednesday in 3rd District Court.
The man, 45, "became angry and struck (the victim) multiple times on the head and arm with a tennis racquet," according to the charges. A witness saw the suspect pin the victim against a cooler and hit him five to eight times, breaking the racquet, the charges said.
The man has been charged with one count of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.
