Grass installation at Real Salt Lake's new Sandy stadium is nearly two-thirds of the way complete, and installers expect to finish up either late Thursday evening or Friday morning.

The first piece of the 105,000 square feet of bluegrass blend was laid down Tuesday morning. Each roll is four feet wide and 125 feet long.

The sod was grown in Fort Morgan, Colo., at Graff's Turf Farm, one of the top three bluegrass farms in the U.S. according to Real Salt Lake, and transported to Utah. Graff's Turf Farm has also supplied sod for Notre Dame's football stadium and Wrigley Field.
